Who We Are

TEAM CHURCH is a vision the Lord gave to Linda and I years ago. Both of us committed our lives to full-time Christian ministry on May 19, 1968 at Castle Hills First Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. That day was the beginning of an unbelievable journey in which God has used us in ministry in the United States and many foreign countries.

However the focus of our ministry has been in the local body of Christ called the Church. Our first assignment was at Possum Kingdom Lake in 1970. The Lord began our training for church growth there and continued that process over the next 44 years. Since then we have been involved in church revitalization and church starts across the state of Texas and in foreign countries as well. In 2015 God called us into this focused ministry called TEAM CHURCH.

We are now committed to working with new church starts or churches that have plateaued or are experiencing decline.

We are available to talk with any church or association that would like to explore the possibilities of working with TEAM CHURCH!

Our Philosophy

TEAM CHURCH is just that: a ministry that is teamed with believers around the world called–the Church.

TEAM CHURCH follows the biblical mandate to make and equip disciples to serve others by building Godly leaders in the body of Christ.

In many areas of the un-reached and un-engaged world, there is a lack of skilled church leaders. Growing churches in these previously un-reached areas need to send out missionaries to effectively reach their own people groups. Even in the Muslim world there is a great demand for church planters. TEAM CHURCH is working through every available resource to engage and train these future church leaders. If you are interested in exploring opportunities for service in these areas OR if the Lord has laid on your heart ways to expand and strengthen this ministry, please contact us. We know that it is through the counsel of many that God works to complete His work. Join us to send the message of Jesus Christ to all of the world.

Guidelines

God Dependence

We subject our lives to the truth of Scripture, and we rely on God through Holy Spirit revelation and prayer. We know God provides what is necessary to carry out His command to evangelize the world. We know only God can save, thus we share His words and use His gifts He has given us to diligently work to reflect His love. Only by constant reliance on God through prayer, yielding control of our lives to the control of the Holy Sprit in obedience to His Word, can we do these things.

Vision

It is imperative that Christians see the future in light of eternity. God says there will be a day when the people of God from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation will be gathered around the throne of heaven, worshipping Him. By keeping our eyes on this vision, we become adaptable and flexible to implement new methods when needed and appropriate.

Because we know that lost people matter to God, we know they matter to us. We go to serve, not to be served. Many times we go where the Gospel is least known or not known at all because of the commands of God. God tells us humanity’s ultimate need is to find eternal life through a personal relationship with God in the person of Jesus Christ. That is our story to all who will listen.

Caring Community

God created the world and filled it with people. People that He intended to bring into a personal and enjoyable relationship with Him. TEAM CHURCH wants to relate to the community of God through linking arms with God’s people wherever we find them. We want to build unity, trust, acceptance and accountability to one another by evaluating this ministry on a regular basis. The more we care for and share love with those in our world, the more we demonstrate the lifestyle of Christ.

Statement of Faith

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith, life, and conduct.

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ, without any change in His eternal diety, became man through conception by the Holy Spirit and virgin birth, that He died on the cross, a perfect and complete sacrifice, in our stead and for our sins according to the Scriptures. He rose bodily from the dead, and ascended into heaven where at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. And during this age to convict of sin and regenerate the sinner upon believing in Christ. At the time of regeneration He baptizes the believer into one body of which Christ is the Head; and to indwell, guide, instruct, fill, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

We believe that man was directly created by God in His own image, but fell into sin. The entire human race is, therefore, lost and only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, and regeneration of the Holy Spirit, can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

We believe that the atoning death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground of justification and salvation for all who believe, and only those who receive Jesus Christ by personal faith are born of the Holy Spirit and by Him are sealed to the day of redemption.

We believe in the personal, imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that the hope of His appearing has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting and conscious punishment.

We believe that the Church is composed of all people who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ, of which He is the Head.

We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during this present age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation.

We believe that all the saved should live in a manner that will honor and glorify and not bring reproach upon their Savior and Lord, and that it is commanded of God to remain separate from false doctrines, and sinful pleasures, practices, and associations.

We believe in the existence of angels who worship God and minister to believers. We also believe in the existence of Satan, the devil, a fallen angelic being, who with his demons opposes God, His people, and His work, but over whom Christians can have spiritual victory.
